Dark horses Uruguay, thwarted by Peru, will make two changes when they take on Group C pace-setters Chile on Friday, coach Oscar Tabarez said on Thursday.
Sebastian Coates will come in for Mauricio Victorino at the back and Alvaro Pereira will stand in for attacking midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro for the encounter at Mendoza's Malvinas Stadium, Taberez told reporters.
The Uruguayans, World Cup semifinalists last year, had been expected to see off Peru in their opening game but instead were held 1-1.
Tabarez is now hoping that his attacking instincts will not let him down as he fields three men up front in Luis Suarez, Diego Forlan and Edinson Cavani.
Debutant Coates, aged just 20, is a young hope from Montevideo side Nacional. He has only appeared for the national side to date in a friendly -- last month's 3-0 win over Estonia.
Pereira of Porto is normally a regular but sat on the bench against Peru.
